NV Martinez Master's Reserve Ruby Port

Tasted at Roy's on 3/14/2010.
Martinez Master's Reserve Port
Color: Dark red and brick, medium intensity. It's not nearly as opaque as the 2007s, but it is at least fully opaque in the center unlike the 1995.
Nose: Dates, some faint minerals, plum, and some high-toned alcohol. Just enough red raspberry to provide depth without really registering as red raspberry.
Palate: Soft grape and blueberry. Good tannins and acidity, especially the tannins for a ruby reserve. I find no flaws, but neither do I really find anything special. It feels somewhat rough and unfiltered whether or not that is actually true.
Finish: Nice fruits and a late richness. Some warmth, but not really enough. Only moderate length.
A solid ruby reserve, but probably won't replace my current favorite (Broadbent Auction Reserve). Seems to be made more in the style of Graham's Six Grapes. 85 points.
