on opening, expansive, sweet plum, licorice, cherry nose; sweet cherry candy flavors with mulberry overtones, soft with tannins in finish, alcohol not intrusive
D +1 hr sweeter cherry overtones, mild flavors, tart and tannic finish
D +5 hr cherry cough syrup with mulberry, good flavors with less tannins evident
D +16 hr very light nose of cherry/mulberry, soft mellow mulberry and mocha flavors completely balanced with slight alcohol, great freshness, drink now from tenths probably OK for 7 more years of age, fifths will be fine for much longer,

I am assuming that you are talking about a 375 ml bottle, so that a tenth equals half of a fifth?

Either way, the 1994 Warre's is a very nice and extremely youthful wine and I am always happy to try it. I have seen this show very young in recent tastings and have no doubt that well stored bottles have a long life ahead. This will be another in a long line of graceful, well balanced Warre's VPs.

Chiding me for not using metric? Yes, tenth is 375 ml. Get better soon. I went through the same gall bladder event as you but twenty years ago and, Yes, you can go back to enjoying wine and food with no ill effects.

Thanks for the encouragement Jim. I can use it. Just beginning to feel like I am alive again and I tossed the pain meds after two days so I could move forward (although it sure helped day 1). My biggest fear is having to give up "my life" and not being able to continue to enjoy the fruits of my patience in my cellar. Thank you for allaying that fear. I sure hope you are right. Thanks man!
