Tasted 4/22/10 cork wet to top but no seepage, clear dark red with amber edge in glass
on opening, closed, cherry, mulberry, mocha nose, clean toffee cherry flavors, some acidity to absorb, not tannic
D +1 slight volatile acidity, low key mulberry toffee nose with nice cherry toffee flavors showing some heat and tannins on finish, good balance between acidity and sweetness
D +2 metallic overtones to mulberry, toffee, cherry nose, slightly musty, slight metallic taste along with mulberry and cherry, great body with good acid structure, slightly hot finish
D +3 light metallic mulberry nose, good toffee, cherry, mocha flavors, well balanced with slight finishing heat, tenths ready now but will hold for 4 to 6 years (IMHO)
D +4 metallic notes GONE!, light mocha, mulberry, cinnamon, cherry nose with excellent flavors of mulberry, cherry, toast, well balanced , alcohol fully integrated, fresh and vibrant
D +5 very aromatic, clean mulberry, mocha, licorice nose, balanced mulberry flavors, medium bodied with good fruit intensity, smooth with a slight alcohol presence at the end, very fine, 91 points
finishing the last of it as I finish this post, purchased August 1997 for $ 35
