2007 Quevedo Vintage Port
Tasted double blind at the Quinta, June 2009.
An extremely extracted purple with very youthful and primary plums which dominate the nose. I was immediately hit with a wall tannins which eventually gave way and allowed the blackberries full expression from front to back. This is a full bodied Port with excellent structure and potential. I am impressed with such deep fruit, tannins, and yet it still has plenty of acidity to keep it fresh and which should help this to drink very well several decades in. I liked this a bit better than the 2005 which followed it. When the wines were revealed I was very impressed at how this and the 2005 showed. A producer to watch! 95(+) Points
