20 Year Old Tawny Port by Rocha

This was my original favorite Port, and was also the first Port I ever tried. I purchased this 375 ml bottle at my local QFC where it had been standing upright on the shelf, but at least the wine section is practically refrigerated in this store.
The nose on this bottle is a bit more alcoholic than usual. Spirity might be the right word. It carries over into the mouth as well, where the alcohol seems rather high toned. I think I'm going to have to call this one damaged, though it's not really unpleasant. It's just completely off compared to past bottles.
Otherwise all the normal Rocha tawny indicators are there - a rich, grain-like note on the nose, some cinnamon or possibly nutmeg, some vanilla, and a good dose of oak.
Not rated.
