Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?

Mike, Andrew K and Brad B went in together and bought a case of 1963 Smith Woodhouse and 10 bottles of 1966 Rabello Valente at that amazing Port Auction at Heritage.

Got beat out on 1994 Vesuvio and two different lots of 1970 Fonseca...hope they went to happy FTLOPers. [cheers.gif]

4 x 1997 Gould Campbell, all 375mm. Won at auction---just needed to round out a case and looked like a decent deal. 10 are still available at WineBid.

Re: What have you opened this week?

1980 Ferreira...a leaker. Super saturated cork and depressed. Unless this comes around miraculously I'll have to open the backup bottle.... which is a 1963 Croft. Happy Easter to all who celebrate!! Miracles do happen.... or I should have had faith. Really opened up when decanted and aired a couple...

What Happened in 1994 Onward?

Yesterday 9 of us gathered for a 12-Bottle Ferreira vertical 1960-1995 (missing 1966 & 1978) plus a 1983 LBV and 1983 Q.de Seixo. From 1960 thru 1991 the style was classic Ferreira, charmingly elegant Ports. Then 1994 & 1995 were bruisers---and by that aside from the aging differences the ba...

Seems like Small Potatoes to fake a $150 bottle. Understand what you are saying, Glenn, but an easy roll of the dice.
