On the provincial auction

Post by simon Lisle »

Prices for port are on the up 20% on last year ,out of 30 bids I was succesful on 2 and on one of those I bid too much.uncleTom knows I have a keen eye for a bargain but their was nothing to be had even the fine wine sold well the only good points were that the vintage fizz was notably cheaper

I take it this was Morphets Xmas sale.

I didn't bid on anything on this one - nothing seemed worth the journey.

I picked up some ludicrously cheap bits at Bonhams though..

Anyone want Quarles Harris '97 or Dow Senhora da Ribiera '98?

I can do six bottle cases for just £55.00

Their are only three auction houses near me that auction wine Morphets show was very poor.Although on a brighter note I did pick up a bottle of Cabral 71 mid neck for £150 including buyers premium but missed out on another of the same in another auction strange having quite a rare bottle coming up twice.
