1997 Sandeman Vau Magnum for $30 (no ship, NY only)

Post by Peter Handel »

Just noticed (on wine-searcher) magnums of 1997 Sandeman Vau Vintage on sale for $30 at Warehouse Wines & Spirits in NY. Sadly, they don't ship, but they will free deliver within a radius of the store (for orders >$100).

When I called, he said he still has at least 5 cases.

Thanks,
Peter

Told a buddy in the City about it and asked if he wanted to split a case. He gets it, he gets it... [beg.gif]

We’ve drunk this several times in the last year, though mostly in double-magnum. Showing very nicely, and $60 a very good price (equivalent to $30 for baby bottles).

Yes, a very good find. Thanks Peter! I forwarded on the info to a friend that lives within a couple of miles from there.

So, is anyone nearby willing to mail a few bottles back to CA? :-)

I do wonder why it's so cheap - could it have gotten hot in a warehouse somewhere?

Thanks,
Peter

When I lived in NY, about 6 years ago, Warehouse Wines & Spirits sold magnums of, I think, Martinez 1997 (or maybe 1994), at approximately free. They were in fine condition.

I got some $20 mags of Presidential VP some years ago. I think I still have one or two left. Probably a good time to pull them out and drink up, they weren't exactly a blockbuster then, just decent.

Wow, incredible price for a magnum.

My best deal on a mag at a brick and mortar wine shop was in 1993 when I purchased a 1977 Warre's for $29. I wish that would happen again some day. [imnewhere.gif]
