1985 Sandeman Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Tasted blind. Fairly dark and red, but not as opaque as #1 (Ramos Pinto). There is slight bricking, and an overall slight brown tint to the red. Aromas shows some medicinal spirit and phenols. There is not much else aroma going on. Then there is a tiny bit of eucalyptus. Fairly thick and sweet and syrupy in the mouth, with lots of eucalyptus and grape stem flavors. It is spicy through the finish. 90 points. Later I detected a brett funkiness, and a sour-tang aroma, almost acetic in nature—VA.
