You must be in Portugal and drinking lots. That was a short note [rotfl.gif]

Does the "60" indicate the age? If so that must have been something else, pretty much unobtainium here in the states at any price. However if the local Ernie's Liquors has it , I'll pick one or two up. [cheers.gif] (I'm so jealous)

It has not yet been imported here. It will be next month and was available earlier this year in FTLOP's Buyers Op through the newsletter.

It is a non-official aged tawny, in that there is no actual IVDP designation for it like there is for the 10,20,30, and 40. So while it has a "60" sticker on it, it can "officially" be called that.

More specifically, it is what Quinta do Mourao would produce if there were a "60-yr old" category like 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-yr old. As Andy said, it's about to be imported into the US and was available through an FTLOP buying opportunity a few months ago. I have not yet seen the label that's going to be used, so I don't think anyone (except perhaps Roy) knows what category of Port it is technically being sold as. I suspect it will fall into the same category as Taylor's Scion and other Ports like that, which I believe is technically Tawny Reserve.

As I recall it is a blend of 1945 and 1972 Colheitas, but that's off the top of my head so I may have those dates wrong.

Here's the packaging for the upcoming commercial bottles, 500ml. This is not the same as what's coming in the buyer's op. They won't be as fancy, but will be 750s.

Wow, that's really cool! Did you get a pic of the bottle label, too?

Nope, sorry. And BTW, the bottle isn't intended to come out of that inner wood box frame. It is secured in there.
