(My first attempt at a TN, be gentle)
Bottled in 2011, enjoyed semi chilled.
An amber golden color with a orange rim. Somewhat translucent with fine spots of sediment, that resemble vanilla pod grains.
On the nose faint hints of spirits, plums and vanilla.
On the palate the Barros had a semi thick body that felt light in the mouth. Mild heat accompanied by notes of peaches and star anise rounded out the experience with an after-taste that lingered on for a few minutes. A fairly enjoyable experience and a decent QPR for this bottle that cost 19 USD. I scored it 88 points as this relative young Colheita has room to develop further in the cask.
