2003 Magalhaes vintage port

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 8.5 hrs. Deep purple red colour. Extreme fruity, but unfortunately also some alcohol in the aroma. Full body. Taste is a bit out of balance. Fruity, some tannins. Medium length aftertaste. 83 pts.

Had an interesting visit there many years ago. His method of using pump over is, well, there is a reason it's not used by the top producers...
Andy Velebil Good wine is a good familiar creature if it be well used. William Shakespeare http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Is it unorthodox or just not particularly inspired?

The later. Doesn't make very good Port most of the time.
