Acker Auctions

Post by John M. »

Anyone look at the April 9th auction for Port???

10 x 1927 Croft
10 x 1945 Fonseca
8 x 1931 Noval
1 x 1815 Vesuvio
1 x 1931 Noval (as a single)
1 x 1927 Taylor
1 x 1955 Taylor

That's some serious Port!

Given Acker's reputation, and the large number of 31 Noval for sale, I'd be suspicious without photos or other documentation.

Is 1815 Vesuvio a thing? I don't recall folks having mentioned it here before.

Well the Quinta was around back then

Not seen this particular bottle so can't comment to authenticity. But I like Eric's thinking.

I do buy from them---but so far mostly newer stuff. I did get 2 x 1960 Ferreira VPs recently. The description was accurate, actually they called them both "slight signs of seepage", but as far as I can tell only one was a leaker. I have not opened one yet, but plan to in May. YMMV.
