Sao Pedro das Aguias 40 year old tawny port

Post by Rune EG »

This company seems to be connected with Rozes, as Rozes is doing the bottling and the marketing. Label showing “more than 40 years”.

Bottled 2011. Bottle opened for us at the LBV House Hotel bar. No decanting.
Deep dark brown colour. Deep complex aroma of predominantly herbs, but also wood. Full body. Powerful taste dominated by herbs / citrus / oak in a nice combination with hints of caramel. Quite sharp tannins towards the end. Possibly higher score if it had been decanted. 91 pts.
