1994 Quarles Harris vintage port

Post by Rune EG »

Purchased two bottles in Denmark four years ago. Tried the first in June this year, and I concluded that I would drink the 2nd bottles soon. 1st bottle got 90 pts. This 2nd bottle was consumed mid-July and was actually slightly better and ended at 92 pts.

Decanted 6.5 hrs. A lot of sediments. Not so bad aroma as the 1st bottle. Dark red colour with a touch of brown. Well balanced aroma of berries and figs, with some elements of oak. Full body. Fairly similar to the 1st bottle, but in general all in a better shape: Powerful (lasted to the end) and to some degree elegant. A lot of fresh and nice fruit, pleasant long-lasting tannins well balanced with minerals. Medium length aftertaste. Well structured vintage port. 92 pts.
