Re: What have you opened this week?
Such nice people there Andy, I visited circa 2012-13 and they were very cool and opened a bunch of bottles to try. Loved eating in the heart of Paso Robles too. Only my 2nd time doing so and I've not been back since taking part in their film festival with Zev.

Quinta da Romaneira 40 Year Old Tawny Port for "dessert" after the Sammamish Port Club's 2011 LBV tasting. My 2nd to last bottle... and they're no longer made.

A Real Companhia Velha Malvasia White....for a cheap white port this was surprisingly good and easy to drink. Served chilled and we drank outside in the brisk autumn air.
Any Port in a storm!

I can't say I've heard anything of 1982. Thanks for the update. Now I know why. It looks like you had a few nice bottles, and of course a gathering with all those hopefully made for a fun experience.Thomas V wrote:1982 themed tasting in order of tasting...

Re: What have you opened this week?
1997 Souza VP. And best part, it came with an extra cork. While decanting the Port was having a hard time pouring out, like something was blocking the neck. I though it was sediment until I got done pouring and heard something "thump" to the bottom of the bottle. I looked inside the neck and saw another full cork inside. Smashed the bottle to get it and sure enough, it was another branded cork. I assume the bottling machine pushed two into the bottle and the first fell inside.

1994 Warres VP, 375ml.
No notes taken, but tasty and paired well with grilled lamb.

2006 Quinta do Crasto LBV. Between 2012-2014 I have tasted 5 times and consistently 88-90 points---an OK port. Well. its been 3 years and was curious to see where it is. Got all weekend to savor it.
