TN: 2007 Casa Ferreirinha Reserva Especial Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 4.5 hrs which appeared to be sufficient. Some fine sediments at decanting. Dark red with hints of brown. Deep complex aroma of dark berries, oak and some minerals. Medium to full body. Powerful and elegant, a “big” red wine. Minerals (ferro)/schist and oak in very nice harmony, distinct tannins. A well-structured red wine with good balance acidity/sweetness, although acidity was on the way up at the very end. This wine is giving small signs of the age. 95 pts.

I love this wine and it does benefit from a long decant. I just bought some more of it that I found 8--)
