TN: 2009 Quinta do Crasto Old Vine Reserva Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 4 hrs. Deep dark red colour. Powerful and complex aroma of oak, berries and minerals. Full body. Taste was powerful in an elegant way. A lot of berries and minerals with oak in the background. Touch of ferro and lead. Distinct, but “polished” tannins. As always with Crasto Reserva also this bottle was well-structured and having a nice balance acidity/sweetness. Some dryness towards the end. Medium to long aftertaste. 94 pts.

This wine is always an unbelievable value, even in uneven years such as 2006. Great QPR
