Without naming names ... on our 2019 Fortification Tour, the prices we will be charged for all bottles (from one producer), which includes a small quantity discount because it is our group, are still up 50% higher than prices we were charged for 2017's Madeirathon, where we had a very full group. So, a bottle that cost us: $604 in 2017 is now $952. Yes, I realize that one is over 50%.
So those of you who are not inclined to believe that Madeira price increases, especially for oldies have been skyrocketing, well, there you have it. And no, it was NOT D'Oliveiras. All other guesses of producer will not be answered.

I've been trying to restock some Madeira I had years ago. The prices are so high I can not justify it since older port can be more reasonable in price. An younger port is far more reasonable.

No question about that, Shawn. If only we all listened to our consciences a decade ago, realizing this inevitability was coming. We all knew it. And now it is here. Kind of like climate change.
