TN: 2006 Wine & Soul Pintas Douro red

The 2006 version of Pintas was my first Pintas Douro red, and I have liked this brand ever since. Pintas 2006 was the first OWC Pintas red purchased back in 2010. Now it was time to drink the last bottle from that OWC. Decanted 4 hrs. Dark purple with a light rim. Pleasant aroma dominated by berries, but also oak and minerals in the background. Full body. Powerful in a modest way (compared to years ago), elegant in a high degree. Minerals, berries and oak are all there in nice harmony. Slight hint of lead. A well-structured Douro red with an optimal acidity/sweetness-balance. Long aftertaste. 95 pts.
