Agree, These are very nice wines and great values. I can now get them at a shop not too far from me.Gerwin de Graaf wrote:Rediscovered after many years (last bought back in 2006):

Just found and snagged 4 bottles of Niepoort Redoma Brano Reserva 2005 at $35 each.
Hoping they still are dinking as well as my last bottle did a year ago.

Good price. They are, IMO, at their peak and should be consumed in the near term. I have had some bottle variation with them recently, some showing some oxidation. Very enjoyable still.Randy Katz wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 8:38 pm Just found and snagged 4 bottles of Niepoort Redoma Brano Reserva 2005 at $35 each.

Agreed. Very nice. Definitely some bottle variation. One I had recently was "pop & dump". The other two were very good, but don't wait at all. Pop and pour for these is fine. They don't need a decant. I have one bottle left and will finish it soon.

Re: What Douro wine have you purchased this week...
Elys picked up a couple of bottles of Pacheca Superior from two different vintages. First time seeing them for sale. Only previously have I tasted at Portuguese wine event. $13 each, Pacheca could be the new benchmark for value for Douro dry wine! Really well done wines with elegance and purity at a price that is hard to beat. Funny thing is, she bought they wines are a real mom & pop liquor store in Portuguese section of Lowell, MA. They have a great line up of $4-25 Portuguese wines, but is hardly a wine shop. More Bud light and cigarettes if anything.
Without having them side by side, I found the Pacheca reminding me of Crasto Superior, but the Crasto looks to be almost double the money.

I’m in telluride and found a 2016 Prazo de Roriz douro wine for $17 at a local store. Pretty good QPR.
