2015 Anselmo Mendes Dão Quinta de Silvares - Portugal, Beiras, Dão (7/8/2020)
Dark color. At first, a rustic nose of thyme, rosemary, black cherry, and smoked meat. Medium-full bodied. Muted black fruit, some earth/forest floor. Soft palate. The tannins are very fine and round. Very good acidity comes in at the end and medium long finish. Tastes very Portuguese to me. I really like it. Slightly rustic, but modern.... but not too modern. The mid-palate may be a bit too "international", but I like it. Wonderful! 91+ points
