TN: 2016 Cartuxa Pera-Manca Branco Alentejo white

Post by Rune EG »

Partly fermented in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks. Grapes: Antao Vaz and Arinto. 13.5 % alc. Decanted 45 minutes, which was OK. Light golden colour. Complex aroma of plenty fruit, something dry (minerals), hint of diesel and touch of oak in the background. Medium to full body. Powerful, but also elegant. Quite a mouthful dominated by ripe fruit, but also distinct minerals. Well-structured and well-balanced white wine. Long aftertaste dominated by fruit and minerals. 93 pts.

This is a favorite of mine. I keep buying more of it. It's reasonably priced in the US. Wonderful stuff!
