Aged White Port Tasting August 15th!

Post by John M. »

Hello fellow FTLOPers!

The Mid-Atlantic Port Tasters are putting together a tasting. Targeting August 15th at Twin Brooks Country Club, 600 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ 07069 and we are posting here in the hopes you might come!

The theme will be Aged White Ports (good for the summer). I have a set of Enologos (10-20-30-40-50 year old) which are definitely in and Mike W has some others that are 20+. Yet if you have an aged white and think it would fit in LMK.

This event will be limited to 10 people as the bottles tend to be 500ml. PM me if interested.

Cost is projected at $175 to $225, but really TBD. 3 course dinner and the accoutrements are included as well.

If I wasn't already travelling the prior week, I'd be tempted to fly out! I'd have to miss our Port Club meeting that same night, too.

Hmm... maybe we should have a similar theme and compare notes!

Oh, man, it's been a busy busy summer away from my computer, and I am only just seeing this. This sounds like it would have been a blast to join... and it's today!

Have a great time and can't wait to hear (read) all about it.

Sadly, we had to table this event. Too many summer conflicts. We are projecting a couple in the balance of the year. PM me if you want to be included.

There wasn't sufficient interest in Port Club for us, so Stewart and I took our wives out to dinner. I brought along a Kopke 30 Year Old White Port and it was pretty delicious!
