Fun fact if you google "1995 andresen late bottled vintage port," the 2nd and 5th search results are the forum threads about our LBV tasting.Mike J. W. wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2026 4:43 pm Great score on the Andresen. I thought I had cleaned them out the last time I was there about 2 years ago. Bummed that I missed that one, but I'm glad you were able to find it. I only have one left.I'll have to stop in the next time I'm in the area and see what they have.
You can't beat the price on that Castelinho. It's not a well known Producer and their scores for their Ports are all over the map on CellarTracker, but hopefully it's a good find. Let me know how it shows when you open it.
I'm sure no one is looking for it, the secret is not exactly out. Heck, you might want to email Andresen and ask about it, they might have pristine cases lying around collecting dust, you never know.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
1991 Pocas VP half $22
2003 Gould Campbell VP half $25
2007 Gould Campbell VP half $25
2012 Croft Quinta da Roeda SQVP $30
2015 Vesuvio VP x2 $36 ea
Prices include BP but not shipping
Btw, EmpireWine has 5x 2017 Romaneira VP for $39.95 right now which was really tempting me, but I opted to bid on these instead.
I still don't see Port prices staying this low, especially with inflation, low harvest yields, and these ongoing Beneficio cuts. Not financial advice, but I would sell the S&P and buy more Port!

Case of 1983 Niepoort VP. Didn’t have any in the cellar and a good price was a good combo.

18 bottles of Poças 2015 White Colheita over the last 4 weeks. It’s dangerous stuff, only 9 bottles left…

2 bottles 2011 Barao de Vilar Vintage Port
1 bottle 1970 Borges Vintage Port
3 bottles 2011 Calem Vintage Port
1 magnum 2000 Churchill Vintage Port
2 bottles 2003 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port
2 bottles 2010 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port - Late Bottled
1 bottle 2011 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port
But most excited to have ordered:
3 bottles (375ml) Bedrock Wine Co. NV Angelica
For those of you who aren't familiar with Bedrock, they're a winery based in Sonoma that pretty much exclusively deals with very old vineyards, with a focus on old "mixed blacks" plantings from 70-120+ years ago. They're run by Morgan Twain-Peterson, the son of Joel Peterson of Ravenswood fame, and a partner, and are one of the most serious, thoughtful, grape grower and winemaking teams I've ever met from any region. While I don't think they've made any fortified wine before this, they've been generating wine for this bottling for the last 8+ years and plan to continue on somewhat of a solera system moving forward. When they say they were inspired by the Heitz 1974 Angelica bottling, I both trust them to do a great job, and it makes me think of the evening at Glenn's quite a while ago that featured the Heitz and also the incredible 1875 Isaias W. Hellman bottling that I think Eric Ifune contributed. Can't recommend y'all signing up for their releases enough. OK, soapbox dismounted

Purchased directly from Pocas:
6 x O Galego 20 y.o. White (2 going to John M.)
3 x 2015 White Colheita
The O Galego 20 y.o. White is part of their FORA DA SÉRIE which are limited edition Ports and Wine. This one is made 100% out of Moscatel grapes.
The Bonificador which some of you have had was also a part of the FORA DA SÉRIE.

Specifically, Moscatel Galego from which it gets its name. Mostcatel Galego is the Portuguese name for Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains.Mike J. W. wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2026 9:07 am The O Galego 20 y.o. Andre announced that this was coming on July 18, and I've been waiting for it to finally show up on their website. It looks like it has finally arrived, though it still claims to be sold out. I've pinged Andre to figure out what's going on, as it's clearly available since Mike was able to order some.

O Galego means The Grecian, because this grape - as with virtually all Malvasia grapes - originally came from Greece. Malvasia is, linguistically, a derivative of Monemvasia which was the port from which the Greeks traded grapes with the Portuguese. And that's why the Malvasia grapes are so diverse and not genetically related (there's even a red one) - they're literally just the grapes that came from Monemvasia, Greece.

I tried to order them as well, but according to their website it's sold out. That is.... I've sent an email to Poças on July 27, expressing my disappointment and ongoing interest in up to 12 bottles (to be shared with two friends) referring to their great Bonificador Tawny. To cut a long story short, a box with twelve bottles arrived on August 3!Glenn E. wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2026 9:46 amSpecifically, Moscatel Galego from which it gets its name.
