1994 Grahams in a 375. Rather pop and pour; drank half while at dart night with friends. I'll do a better, more attentive note tonight but I was struck by how primary it still is 32 years on. Tasted more like a 10 year old VP. Quite dense and lush.....dark fruits. Seems like this one will be great further down once fully evolved.

2008 Kopke White Colheita (bottled 2024)
2015 Graham LBV (bottled 2020 IIRC)
There was also a Graham 20 Year Old Tawny Port at the dinner, and I did a small "class" on the history of Port, the styles, and how it's made. Lots of fun!

Porto Rocha Over 40 year old Tawny in a 375 ml bottle (bottled 2007). I opened it to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. This bottle is in great shape with lip smacking acidity that contributes to a crazy long finish. It's a very nice 40 year old.

1994 Fonseca VP
No rush to open these, but it is showing so well that it is hard to resist. I told people at the dinner, "If you don't like this, you shouldn't drink Vintage Port."

Taylor's VVO White Port - (80 YO) - Not sure, but I believe the mother wine is the 1896 White that I've had a few times at Krohn. Similarities for sure.

1963 Smith Woodhouse. A leaker with mid shoulder fill. Bottle stink, yet after four hours this morphed into an awesome port. White cherry, a touch of esteva, and a little bite at the end (similar to how a green pepper bites--but there is no green pepper flavor, just the quality).

Spent last week in the Berkshires, well actually Copake, NY. We brought a 2000 Fonseca and 1985 Dow. Both special, but Dow was more to my liking. After a group chat the other night on 2000's, I opened a 2000 Smith Woodhouse which is a pop and pour rock star. I think we'll finish it tonight.

1985 Taylor. 6 hour decant for a dinner party. So good....cherry abounds. Really in a terrific spot now.

1994 Graham’s Single Harvest Tawny (b 2020). Still very good.
Andy Velebil Good wine is a good familiar creature if it be well used. William Shakespeare http://www.fortheloveofport.com
