Roy asked me to post on this 70 Fonseca after I served it Friday at a charity auction.
I opened it early in the day , decanted and then put it back in the bottle and recorked. The cork was soft and fell apart at the end of the corkscrew. The wonderful fully floral and fruity bouquet was evident immediatley. Not a lot of sediment in this bottle. A clear ruby color that looked much younger than 37. I pulled the cork about 6 PM at the table. We had no decanters nor room for them. Served with a cheese course about 10 PM, it was a real treat. Great balance not hot at all. Great floral , spice and raspberry jam on the nose. Great mouth feel coated the palate, releasing flavors that matched the bouquet. Lingering finish. Worth 96 points.
