1960 Hooper's Vintage Port

I wasn't expecting much from the 1960 Hooper's Port (produced and bottled by Real Companhia Velha) it had a short cork with no date (only name) and almost no sediment upon decanting. It looked similar to a garrafeira and almost appeared as though it had been decanted and re-bottled. The color was very cloudy and mostly burnt orange. There was almost no nose of alcohol only fresh, floral scents. The Hooper's had a very thin watery consistency but decent flavors of sugar, orange peel, and caramel. This will definitely not benefit from further aging but is drinking surprisingly well now.

This was a nifty little port. As Sean mentioned, drink this one now! The color was quite unique and had more flavor to it than it looked. Subtle alcohol to the nose. Almost in the Madeira realm than port and had a short finish. It sure did look like a garrafeira. Thoroughly enjoyed; probably never see a bottle like that cross our tasting table again..
