2001 Dow's LBV Port

Post by Frederick Blais »

This bottle was opened 2 days ago for cooking and did not have the chance to revisit it since then.

Ruby color with light tawny edge, it is almost opaque. The nose is not much expressive, mainly flavours of ripe plums and minth. Some tobacco with time. Smooth entry on the palate to end with the tipycal dry Dow's finish. It is dominated with fresh red cherries flavours and some licorice. Overall the balance is fine up to the finish where the heat shows off. Simple but pleasant LBV. 15/20
