1964 Krohn White Colheita Port

Post by Ted D »

Krohn 64 White Colheita - 90 points

Brief notes from a wine dinner/party

An Orange/Straw color -- certainly not white :D

Nose -- a little spice, a touch of toffee

Palate - light yet flavorful like a white port (certainly NOT VP like!).
Very refreshing with a creamy orange creamsicle in the background.
Long with tinges of treacle and honey

I loved it, but my wife and others liked it more than me.
I might give it a 92 if drank at the end of a super hot day while sitting on a deck overlooking the Maine Coast.

A fun wine!

Ted,

Curious how long you decanted this for, if at all. In my experience this is a bit slow out of the gate and improves a lot after about 12 hours of decanting. A tasty wine for sure. Thanks for the TN

Andy, only decanted for maybe 30 minutes. It did improve with air I thought, but we got more festive as time went on too so hard to tell.

One bottle left -- will decant the next one. I may look for more as its the wifes birthyear.
