1977 Dow Vintage Port
The color of the 1977 Dow was burgundy and grape, solid to the edge and a perfect consistency. On the nose a bit of tomato, cherry, and pepper mixed with alcohol. The taste was primarily of cherries, spice and anise or licorice with a slightly tart finish. This particular bottle had an underlying musty smell to it which I don't think was TCA but it did effect the taste and score of an otherwise excellent bottle of Port.
