Douro boys in Montreal in March

Post by Frederick Blais »

No date confirmed yet, they are putting to the final touch to the event, but I can tell you that the boys will be there to present there wines, some port and some special bottles. I'm not sure Wine&Soul will be there because they did not talk to me about them. The diner will be made by Cafe Ferreira, undoubtly the best Portuguese restaurant in Montreal.

As soon as I get more info I'll post it here, it could be a great time to meet some people of the board at this special event!

Thanks fro the heads-up,
so this is not the usual ICEP/SAQ/Marche Bonsecours/Restaurant buyers type event is it? Good, I would go for something else.

I agree, Carlos' restaurant is one of the best.

I attended the Symington event in October (19 VP, 1 white port, 1 red wine) and enjoyed a different format.

keep us posted

I was able to get some more details tonight. Wine & Soul will be there, completing the usual Douro boys team. The event will be held the 10th of March. They are planning the location right now, the food will be provided by Cafe Ferreira and they plan to serve around 200 peoples. It will not be the place to have personnal talking with the producers but it will be a nice experience to taste their wines mostly unavailable.

Now I'm trying to get a place at a producer table :) :)

Ok, I've got the final details about this. The price will be 1000$ for 2 tickets. You can only buy by pair or tables of 8/10. You will also receive a tax bill that you will be able to deduct on your 2006 tax declaration because the profit will be raise for the kistic fibrosis. Below is the wine and the producers that will be there. All the food will be made by Cafe Ferreira, a great Montreal portuguese restaurant. If you are interested, send me an email or PM and I'll give you the information about who to contact to get a place for this great looking event.
