1890 Ramos Pinto Colheita Port

This is like toffee in color. Wow, what a great nose, I just want to smell it all day. The palate is smokey, tobacco, oak, nuts and a finish that is just so smooth and consistant and just goes on for a long time. 99 points

The more I taste Port, the more I find that old Colheitas are the ideal for my tastes. There seems to be an elegance and brightness to them that I have never yet found in VPs.

Thanks, these are my TN's from the 2006 Harvest Tour. They are a little short and to the point, but we were drinking a ton of things in a short amount of time. (so far, I've only posted the first day and a half worth of notes).

I've been a little slow transfering them here, but got a couple days free so now is the time.

I also have come to love older colheita's. The complexity and elegance is just amazing.

Ah, I remember this 1890 fondly. A real stud!

I bet you never thought that you'd be tasting another 1890 so soon thereafter, no less a pair of Colheitas that were 192 years old.

Yes, 2006 and moreso, 2007 were great years for learning about Colheitas.
