Seeking 1908 VP in the UK

First posting ... Hope I don't incur the wrath of the moderator ...

My Grandfather is turning 100 next month. He likes his VP (as should anyone of sense) and I would like to get a bottle or two of VP 1908 to share with him and (begrudgingly) with my various relations during our celebrations.

The tricky part is locating such bottles - especially as I do not like parting with excessive amounts of money. We will be in the UK and would prefer to source it from the UK to keep down costs

Does anyone have any suggestions for locating any 1908 VP (I've already tried "wine-searcher.com")?

Welcome to FTLOP and don't worry, no wrath. I have sent you an email. As for your bottle, hopefully someone here can help but any bottle that old is going to be expensive. Congrats on his 100th birthday.

The wrath only goes to the salesmen here on FTLOP who like to use websites to promote their business ventures. We never get on anyone's case who is looking to BUY Port ... nor legit private sellers either.

Nice to have you here, even if it is only to find the source of one special bottle. Hopefully, you'll come back to discuss your enjoyment of Port and how your grandfather likes his centennary VP tipple.

That said, in this case, I'll leave Giles post and hope that it or others are worthy of your grandfather's celebration.

I do have to chuckle when I read, "at no extra cost."

i dont have pics of those particular bottles, i have to ask them.
What i do have are some pictures of bottles of 1851 port. I had them set aside for me

These are bottles of unknown shippers and are from 1851 and 1853
They lie in their cellars so i guess they will be fine.

I dont know Andy, i havent seen them upclose. If there was they probably could tell who the shipper would be. They also have a Quinta do Noval 1931 Vintage (no Nacional) for € 1100 and other gems
