1967 Krohn Colheita Port

Post by Frederick Blais »

Making an effort tonight to post a TN.

This was kept for a special occasion, I opened it to celebrate the great recovery my uncle is doing from sever nerve damage. As he's starting to be able to hold a glass of wine by himself, I did pop this Colheita, his favourite drink.

The color was light caramel tawny, some alcohol on the nose, quite enough to tickle my nephew's narines.(that was funny to see, he's 5 btw) This stuff is intense, loads of grilled nuts and dried fruits, fresh vanilla and orange peel. The palate is sharp, fresh with a good balance between sugar and acidity giving this wine viscosity withouth being tiring to drink. Quite complex with similar flavours than the nose, long finish mainly /ominated with candied fruits and fresh almonds flavours. 17.5/20

I'll probably buy another bottle :D

Frederick... Glad to hear your uncle is doing well. Here's wishing a full recovery for him. The port glass needs to be full and held of his own power... that is a great motivator! :)
