Paying attention here on FTLOP has its privileges. Next week the Rare Wine Company will be offering 3 brand new releases from Barbeito from the WWI era:
1914 Barbeito Bual - $249
1916 Barbeito Malvasia - $265
1917 Barbeito Sercial - $275
Although their newsletter won't be sent out by mail until next week and even their email sent to key clients won't go out until possibly Mon. or Tues. I have asked for a brief exclusive here.
FTLOP readers can call TODAY and order (very limited, probably one bottle per customer.
There is also a discount for combining one bottle of each at $725. Ask for MARK @ 800 999-4342.
Beat next week's crowd and be sure you get an allocation. I know they have only a couple of cases of each and this will disappear by Tues. or Wed. I would not wait!!!
Tell Mark, Roy sent you ... as I want them to continue to give us the heads up in advance, so this will help!
Good luck.

Re: IMMEDIATE ATTENTION: Gone quickly - Madeira!!!
Thanks for the heads up, Roy.
I noticed in today's inventory on the RWC web site that they have also gotten some more of the Barbeito Terrantez old reserve. I missed out on that before, but will try to get some this time around.
For those of you who are interested, RWC also got some more 1795 Terrantez. With apologies to Richard Pryor, that's God's way of telling you that you have too much money.

This information has not gone out to the general public although they will be contacting their best Madeira customers to give them a heads up ... so consider yourself armed with the information to proceed today before the onslaught.

They are pretty good retail prices great bargain
Re: IMMEDIATE ATTENTION: Gone quickly - Madeira!!!
im very new to all of this, having recently taken a wine class.
i did some digging around my recently inheritated collection and found some interesting items.
i researched via the web and made some calls to fine dinning establishments.
a single pour of 1937 madeira at one such spot gathered $85.
can anyone tell me what the WW1 era bottles are worth?
i found a few gathering dust. under the dust, one such bottle read:
Malmsey
1916
Cossart Madeira
(1 of 36 shipped from england)
anyone tasted this? is it quite rare as it claims?
value?

Re: IMMEDIATE ATTENTION: Gone quickly - Madeira!!!
My guess is that the value is similar to the Barbeito. Malmsey is the old English term for Malvasia.im very new to all of this, having recently taken a wine class.

I wouldn't doubt the wine is rare. Many times only a demijohn is left of an old wine before bottling.
