1991 Delaforce LBV Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

A filtered LBV and one I found earlier this year hidden away at a liquor store that has a small wine cellar. The T-cork was fully saturated but still in sound shape. i was amazed at how dark this was, it reminded me of a mid 90's VP. The nose was very inticing with plums, soft violets, on a silky plater. Although the palate was a bit candied and there was no noticable tannins, it was still an enjoyable LBV full of dark fruits. The only slight detractor was a short finish, but consistant with any filtered LBV in its class. Overall I was impressed at how well this has held up over time for a basic LBV. I have no doubt a well stored bottle of this will hold up for at least another 5-8 years. 85 points.
