Quinta do Noval 1997 Vintage

Post by Erik Wiechers »

Hello all,

i have the opportunity to buy a case with 12 bottles of Quinta do Noval 1997 Vintage for € 700 ( approx. $ 890 US).
I believe this is a fair price, please share your thoughts about this.

Cheers
Erik

I last had it June of this year, and although it only had 2 hours of decanting, I only gave it 91-92 points. Thats roughly $75/bottle (US) which isn't a great price, but not horrible either. Although I don't know what Port prices are normally like in your parts. Is there a way of getting only a 1/2 case?

That's an outstanding price! I would be buying at that price. Just make sure it's not the "silval".

In that case I concur with the others, get it.

Lowest price in the US is $250... unless you find it at auction. It's actually quite rare. Christian Sealy wanted to make a "statement" to let it be known that Noval was back. So the selection was quite severe. I believe it's an RP 100 and WS 99 point wine - so there is always some demand. Does anyone know the total number of bottles produced?

Andy, is a nice price. The cheaper I'd found in the Net was 66€ price. But here was 270€ and now is 145€ without a underdanding reason.
