1970 Cockburn's Vintage Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

The color is still holding just fine with no signs of premature fading. A very light nose that reminded me of my late grandmother's flower garden with a twist of toffee and cedar added in. A silky palate that gave way to massive tannins, black cherries, mocha, coffee, cranberries, raspberries, and white plums. This had very good balance and nice acidity to carry it for many more years. A very long finish with lots of young strawberries. The only strange part was I would get an occassional faint hint of V.A. every so often. It wasn't consistant, so I don't think it was from the Port. 94-95 points
