1974 Quinta do Noval Colheita Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

Bottled in 2006

I took this to a wine dinner on Tuesday as I was told there would be a couple of Port lovers there (As it turns out, one was from Seattle..go figure 8--) ) No decanting, just popped and poured. No formal notes taken so just some basic notes from memory.

Nice big spicy and toffee nose. Great body in this and the spices, nuts, wood, and carmel all pull together into a nice complex Colheita...one you want more of until the bottle is gone, then you hunt for another bottle to open, but sadly I only brought one. Anyways, this is always been one of my favorite Noval Colheita's and it has never disappointed. Even many of those at the dinner who said they don't drink Port kept asking for the bottle to refill their glasses several times. So I'll let that speak for itself.

That sounds like a real winner Andy. When people who normally don't like it love it, then it must be something special. :D
