1963 Cockburn's Vintage Port

Post by nicos neocleous »

Drunk on 08 October 2008 in a Cockburns vertical in London.

1963 Cockburn
Medium red, with a delicate nose of redcurrants and alcohol. The soft palate provides waves of pleasure of maturing strawberry fruits and very little alcohol. For me, this pips the 1960, just, which is surprising given the reputation of the 1963 vintage.

Great tasting!
How mature did you find this? Ready to drink, or past it's best?
Thank you.

I also liked this one and thought it was fully mature. I don't see it declining drastically in the near future, so I'd slowly start drinking them and maybe hold one or two for future tastings...just to see how they are in another 30 years at the next verticle. 8--)
