30 Year Old Tawny Port by Ramos Pinto

Post by Jan-Tore Egge »

Opened just before drinking. Starts off with some fruit cake and marzipan on the nose, then turns more nutty with a little swirling, showing some wood and good fruit (mainly dried). Slightly high-toned, but nothing excessive. Good complexity and intensity. In the mouth, it's moderately sweet, with great concentration. Fresh — if you can say that about a 30YO. Very stylish.

I just posted a note on this wine too. You can see it on the homepage under the Ramos-Pinto "Profile in Port" if you have not already read it inside the newsletter. Very enjoyable 30 year old. It's not my all-time favorite 30yo, but it certainly was a fine bottle.

Thanks for your impression Jan-Torre!
