1963 Graham's Vintage Port

Post by Richard Henderson »

Bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd (edit added from original title by Andy Velebil 4/8/09)

Roy has encouraged me to return to this board. I PM'd him that on Dec 19 08 I had 5 coronary bypasses. On my birthday, Dec 29, my family ( several brothers and I ) shared a 63 BB Graham's. It was a very special wine. Full of alll sorts of fruits and mint on the nose, powerful on the mid palate and long on the finish. This bottle , even for the 10 day post surgery recovering patient , was just incredible ,and to the family. I first met Roy on the Parker / Squires BB when I was seeking info on this 63 BB Graham's years ago. The info was sound and the invitation to join this BB followed. I am recovering well and I will be contributing more. :ftlop: :D :salute:

Rich,

Well my friend, I see it is finally a fait accompli. Here is where I miss having that "bowing deeply" emoticon that is on the Squire's/Ebob BB.

So pleased you've written and are feeling so much better. Thanks for keeping in touch here and by email. I am really glad that the Graham's rewarded your patience.

I was hoping that you'd be back sooner rather than later as we have someone here who has joined us from Houston, that you will have to discuss Port with too. I mentioned you in one of his earliest posts and even mentioned Speck's too.

We're thilled to have you back and look forward to your future posts and continued good health!

Thanks to all for all of the kind words. I had asked the Docs if wine was permitted. Since I was not on cumaden ( Spelling?) they encouraged it! I enjoyed the Graham's 63 very much , but I have been trying a lot of different NV ports this winter.

Richard,
When you get a chance I'd love to see some TN's or impressions of those NV Ports you've had. For some reason people think only the "better" ones should have a TN. While I enjoy seeing TN's on VP's, it also good to get TN's on Ports that most of us drink on a more regular basis that won't break the bank.
