Really popular, so I had to try it.
Sadly, disappointed. While I am usually a fan of tawny ports that contain toffee and or caramel, this one was missing something. Can't put my finger on it.
Overpowering aromas when first opened. But my wife, neighbor, and I had mixed reviews. While I do like the Dow 20 yr tawny very much, this one lags behind the Graham's and Taylor in the 10 year category.
Nice toffee aroma. A bit of fruit, but not up front. I don't think it's balanced. Kept putting it down thinking there's got to be more. Tried again. Same result. Neighbor and I agreed. Wife, who loves tawnies, disagreed.
Am I crazy and alone on this? Graham's and Taylor kick its butt, IMHO.

Re: Dow 10 yr tawny
A shame it wasn't up to par for you. Honestly, it's been so long since I've had this one I will have to dig through my notes to see what I thought of it then.
