Try it, its really really good. In fact its the best i ever did taste and yes, i know its blasphemy to some people here to drink a VP that young.

from the 2003 LBV´s, I would have to say that this one from a small producer and the LBV 2003 Niepoort are the one´s that I prefer.

I know Erik was talking about Javali VP, but in an email exchange early last week with Jose, the winemaker at Javali, he is about to release his 2005 LBV (I don't believe they made one in 2004 though).

The 10 year old Tawny by Javali is really solid as well. I had the 2003 Javali on release and it was good but not great. A couple of years later (in May w/ David at Vinologia) it was showing significant improvement. I had it up from 90 to 92 points.

I hand carried a bottle of the 2003 nJavali LBV back from Portugal. I opened it a month ago. At first itwas incredible. Then after a few hours it closed up tight. Very strong tannins in the finish. It remained in that state for approx. 10 days. Then it started to open again and became lucious. A wonderful, serious LBV. I wish I could get this in the US.
