1995 Smith Woodhouse LBV Port

Has anybody had this recently? Lay & Wheeler are selling 6 bottle cases at £12 per bottle which seems quite reasonable.
Any thoughts on how long it might keep?

I haven't had that so far- sadly. It is like the unfiltered version of LBV from Warre "bottle matured" i. e. after beeing botteled it spends some additional years in the cellar of the shipper. One can imagine that they only do that in a certain awareness of the high quality of those LBVs.

At a price of 12 GBP I would not hesitate to buy it if the source is reliable. The Warre e. g. costs in my area at least 22 EUR. So 12 GBP would be a steal for me. I think even in the UK 12 GBP is a pretty good price.

I would assume that it will go another 5 years easily if not beeing treated badly.

I have consumed many of these Warre "Bottle Matured" LBV's, including the 1995, and they are fantastic value for money, even at the normal UK shelf price of £16 per bottle.

I believe these will keep for at least another decade or more and will be even better for it.

Michael, this is a very good LBV. I've posted a TN on the other forum, see here. I paid 16 or 17 euro for it, so £ 12 seems like a fair price.
