WATCH THIS SPACE CLOSELY ON FRIDAY

Post by Roy Hersh »

There will be a very limited VP offering tomorrow of six historic bottles from a "top 5" all-time-great OLD vintage. These come from 2 of the greatest Port Shippers and the prices are crazy. 3 bottles from each producer. First come ... first served and very fortunate. [cheers.gif]

Don't know when I'll have a break in the action to post them, but this is worth watching here for! :scholar:

A very rare offering to be sure.

Unfortunately, three bottles of Graham's 1948 sold since I last typed here.

There are 3 bottles of Taylor 1948 Vintage Port available. The price is $700 for the Taylor per bottle. You can buy one or buy all.

If you are serious and ready to buy, email me today at portolover@aol.com ... letting me know how many you are looking for and I'll put you in touch with the seller. He has other older port as well. First come, first served.

Here's what I know of the provenance:

"Older man bought them, many years ago, but don't know when. It is a divorce cellar liquidation. Condition is excellent in fills in the mid to lower neck. One label is torn but all of it is there.."

Seller will take a personal check or Paypal (in the latter case, + 3% fee) and is willing to hold bottles for shipment when cooler weather prevails. I know the seller and have bought from him in the past with complete satisfaction.

Best of luck to all!

Roy

Nice! I'm afraid that's out of my price range at the moment, sadly. When "between jobs" one's finances have different priorities. :(

1948 Taylor is epic, wow! So is the Grahams for whomever bought those, but would give the nod to Taylor in that vintage.

Agreed and the prices were very reasonable too, considering the scarcity of properly stored bottles from this small vintage.

Me too with the Harvest Trip upcoming and a main water pipe that sprung a leak last night...I'm sure that's going to be expensive when the plumber gets here.

Yikes. It's stormy in New England today. I already bought port for the month.
