Had a bottle last night along with 1977 Niepoort Vintage and 1938 Niepoort Garafeira. The '70 was quite dark in the glass with an intense berry and violet nose. Still grapey with blueberry notes. Perfectly balanced and slightly dry finish with great length. This is one of the best 1970's and slowest evolved as well. This vintage has decades left to it. 96 points.

IMO, this is one of Rolf's greatest achievements (Dirk's father). The 1970 is in my top 6 Ports of the vintage, for sure. It never fails to deliver extraordinary pleasure. One can not have enough of this juice.
