1966 Barros Colheita Port

Post by Tom D. »

From 375ml bottle. A bit cloudy with no real decant. Color and nose of buttery caramel. Awesome buttery caramel and caramelized onion on the palate, with some nuttiness and plenty of warmth. A very fine tawny for lazy sipping, nicely balanced and not cloying. No hurry, but no harm in drinking these right now. This changed very little over several days. Bottled in 1999. 93 points. 4/5/2009

Sounds like a fine showing and about as good as you could ever expect from a 375 that was bottled a decade ago. Barros rarely has wowed me with their Colheitas ... with VERY FEW exceptions -- the 1938 comes to mind. :winebath:
