you should be excited about the 2003, it's great, and I've never had the '05 so I'm looking forward to your TN on it.John M. wrote:2003 Fonseca VP (V excited about this one based on TNs here) and

"My port tastes like feet."Andy Velebil wrote:Both excellent Ports. I had the 2003 Graham's Monday and while young is showing very well. Put it away for a long long time.Espen S. wrote:Bought a 2006 Quinta do Vesuvio VP and a 2003 Graham's VP.
The 2006 I, and several others here, helped tread the grapes for this. It will be an earlier maturing Port compared to the 2003 Graham's but is still a very solid port that will last for several decades.

That's very cool. Many people say it's a great port. I'll let it grow a beard and then taste it.

Symon,
The 1912 Niepoort Colheita was the very first Colheita I ever had. It was in the mid-1990s and my good friend Paul who used to post here before giving up all forms of communication, opened that bottle. I had not tried it again until the end of June 2007 (that note is in the TNDB if I am not mistaken ... if it is not, please let me know!) when it was opened during my 50th bd weekend. You are in for a great treat and you just don't know it yet. Colheita does not get much better than that if your bottles show as expected!
By the way,
did you forget that you emailed me to ask about buying that case? ![Pointless [dash1.gif]](./images/smilies/dash1.gif)

I'm new to FTLOP but am hoping to learn as much as I can.
This week I bought 2007 Graham's - alas 1 bottle only - @ $65 (though shipping adds to cost).
I hope I'm alive when its ready to drink.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
It appears not. The lot opened at my high bid. However, the auctioneer mentioned that there were two competing bids at that price. I didn't know if I was the top bidder (they should really mention an absentee paddle number). So, I was unwilling to potentially bid against myself. So I let the bid sit and I still haven't heard either way. At this point I have to assume that I did not win.Symon B wrote:thankyou

I don't believe that this case is an original case of 12. If you look carefully you will see that there are two different label stencil types. Also some bottles have what I believe is an Italian import stamp. There are 5 of one type and 7 of another. I suspect that you will find that they will have two different botting dates.Symon B wrote:hi yes i forgot i emailed you

But yes, finding 12 of these is extremely rare!

Not port, but picked up a bottle of 2003 Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas Reserva for $12.99 in a local store, sitting on the bottom shelf below a sign that said "Spain." (grrr...) Maybe they have it mixed up with the non-Reserva. Going to head back over to buy a few more.

1977 Smith Woodhouse VP; 1983 Gould Campbell VP & 1983 Niepoort VP, to test my theory that I like the 83s better than the 85s.
